My sister Carolyn who lives in KY has been wanting to learn how to sew a Boston Commons quilt, so she had fabric to do 2 quilts. I also got some fabric for 1 and last Monday, my sister Bev & I headed for KY, and got there and set things up and were able to get all the strips cut for 3 quilts that evening. Bev , Carolyn and Carolyn's dau. Brenda did the sewing. By Tuesday we had the centers done.
We had an enjoyable time, I really enjoyed helping them, as I really enjoy piecing quilts so much! By thurs. eve, we had the 3 Boston Commons quilts done. They are all nice, but very different from each other. This 1st one is the I got for our sewing, Bev sewed it and did a very nice job:
The next one is my neice Brenda's, and she also did so good- got frustrated sometimes but she made it!!
and the last one for Carolyn's dau. Debra, and this is the one Carolyn sewed, and did a very nice job on it, and is wanting to do one for herself now!
The past few summers, I pieced some quilts for Carolyn that she wanted made for her children, and so we swapped work!! I pieced the quilts and she put up food for me! She did strawberries, green beans, corn, etc. Here's the ones I did for her...
